Shorty
Hey, I'm working on updating my resume right now and have been wondering for the past 30mins if its okay to put down sport teams under experiences. For example... If I was coach/captain of a team or just play on a team. Would I be able to use that as experience? Reply
Abu
You can use that as leadership experience, sure. Reply
Shorty
What if i just played on a team but without any specific title like captain, alternate and such? Edited September 13, 2008 by Shorty Reply
Abu
I guess that shows experience of teamwork and group activity. Shows that you have the aptitude and capability to work well in a group. You can put a spin on anything Reply
~Lc~
what exactly is the resume for? he advice I got for writing a cv is to keep it specific to what ever you're aspplying for. So if you're applying to work as a waiter write your experiences in the food industry, for example. Because you get to a point in your life that you have so much experience in many areas that it'll be boring to write it all down... Reply
IBStuck
i am assuming that this is for uni or soemthing simliar. you should put all of it down. just emntion if you had a leadership position (such as captin), but put down if you were on the team but didn't have a leadership psoition. it stills shows dedication. Shorty
At the moment this resume isn't for uni or anything related to post secondary education. This year the sponsor teacher who is in charge of our IB Council wants us to send in a resume and cover letter. I'm assuming the experiences I need are leadership and ability to communicate. Shorty
Well there are resumes for uni, which is pretty much your curriculum vitae. Pretty much some paperwork saying why you are the bestest student on the world...haha. As for the admission essay....I'm pretty sure most Canadian universities don't require them.
