Now I'm taking my second semester of Geometry. Will I be able to take Maths SL, or do I have take Maths Studies? The thing with Maths SL, and the Mathematics in IB in general is that it eases you into the course. All you require, is prior knowledge, and above all you need to be willing, and motivated to work. Maths SL is not easy. You'll have to work hard to achieve good grades. But I think everyone is more than capable of doing well in Maths SL. Don't give up just because you messed up in Algebra 2. You have to go wrong, in order to make improvements and keep progressing forward. If you need anything just send me a P.M. As everyone said, the first lesson is a repeat of Algebra 2 and you could see how well you understand it in here! (Definitely do not drop just because of one or a few bad grades in this class! My friends did that and went to Math Studies, which turned out to be harder in our school due to the teacher!) Do what you think your capable of doing!
