Christina Armani
Hi, I'm preparing for the Math IB HL and I came through this topic (Shell method to find volumes of revolution of solids when disk/washer method becomes very complex and or fails) which is explained in some books while not in others. Is it really among the official curriculum of the IB HL?. Also is it possible to subscribe to some mailing list to send up updates about what will happen in the future regarding any official inclusions/exclusions of Math IB HL (and also SL in case I'll think about switching). Thanks all Edited August 15, 2014 by Christina Armani Reply
ctrls
The shell method isn't part of the syllabus, you only need to know the disk method. The syllabus is May 2015 candidates is fixed, namely it's the syllabus for first examinations in 2014 (the IB only updates the syllabi of subjects once every few years). A textbook specifically written for it should include all the necessary topics, so I'm not sure why that would come up. Reply
