Enigmatically
Hello, I'm currently on my first year in the program but I just would like to know is Germany universities accepting IB because so far in my research there are only a few universities that accepts the ibdp. Emmi
Yes, they do accept the IB. Each uni is going to have different entrance requirements, so you need to be familiar with what German unis want you to have subject-wise in order to be able to enter them once you finish the IB. They may be general, or there may be specific requirements based on your desired course of study, or there may be some of both. Do some research online for the particular unis you're interested in. 1 Reply
Negotiation
They may not have the IB requirements specifically listed, but they should accept it. Reply
Thrashmaster
They'll almost certainly accept it - if there are specific ones you are looking at, you should check their websites now or call them. It is up to you, if you haven't started IB yet, to see if there is another program the German universities would rather see, especially for finance/econ if that's what you want to study. I really don't know if there is, but IB is usually very well respected. Reply
cjy
Yes but you'll need German A Literature or Language and Literature at at least SL and you'll either need Mathematics or a Group 4 science (biology, chemistry, physics and (maybe) Computer Science) at HL, with at least mathematics SL. This is for most German universities, as my school has a lot of German students, thus we offered German literature and had talks on German universities. 1 Reply
javo.delcid
Straight from Wikipedia: Germany sets certain conditions for the IB diploma to be accepted (a foreign language at minimum A2 Standard Level; Mathematics standard level minimum; Economics, Geography or History as the Group 3 subject; and at least one Science or Mathematics at Higher Level). mechnight
@javo.delcid: Well, perfect, but what happens if school (such as mine) offers different Group 3 subjects? For instance, it offers Economics, Philosophy and Psychology, of which I only have the last one? Reply

In order for it to be recognized it has to meet these requirements: a) The six examination subjects taken for the "International Baccalaureate Diploma/Diplôme du Baccalauréat International" (IB) must conform to IB conditions:two languages at A or B level (one of which at least must be a foreign language studied uninterruptedly as "Language A"1 or "Language B HL" 2),one natural science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics),Mathematics (Mathematical Methods3 or Mathematics HL or Further Mathematics together with Mathematics HL)One social science subject (History, Geography, Economics). The sixth compulsory subject may be one of the above or one of the following subjects recognized by the IB:Art/Design, Music, Theatre Arts, Film, Literature and Performance, another modern foreign language; Latin, Classical Greek, General Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Environmental Systems, Computer Science, Design Technology, World Religions, Philosophy, Psychology, Social Anthropology, Business and Organization, Sports exercise and health science. b) One of the three subjects to be taken at higher level for the "International Baccalaureate Diploma/Diplôme du Baccalauréat International", must be Mathematics or a Natural Science subject such as Biology, Chemistry or Physics.c) All subjects must have been taken uninterruptedly during the 2 year Diploma Programme cycle.d) Candidates must earn a minimum IB Grade of 4 on the six compulsory subjects. Source: http://www.ibo.org/country/universities_rec.cfm?country_code=Germany¤t_country=DE The only requirement that you do not currently meet is the study of a social science subject, as Psychology does not fall under that category (according to the German system). What you would need to do is either take Economics, Geography or History instead of Psychology or Serbian.
