rhapsodysiscaa
How can you write a novel or short story as Creativity? Do you send it to a publisher or magazine? Can I write it in my first language, not English? Can anybody help me? Thanks Edited July 4, 2014 by rhapsodysiscaa Reply
Sceptyczka
One of my classmates writes short stories (in Polish!) for Creativity. As far as I know it's the only thing he does for Creativity in CAS. He does not send them to a publisher or a magazine. Instead he gets them reviewed by his Polish Literature teacher. Well, he decided to submit one of the stories to a literary contest but that was because he wanted to - not because it was a requirement for CAS or an IB requirement. So I guess it's definitely possible. 1 Reply
rhapsodysiscaa
Hmm... Maybe I should ask my CAS coordinator first then? Reply
hilarypotts1
I'd ask your co-ordinator. I do writing for CAS. Reply
Guest NukeWithG
Well to my understanding you're not allowed to get monetary profit from your CAS stuff, so sending what you write to a publisher should wait until you've finished IB. Unless of course the published publishes them for free Reply
IBfreakingout!
So you should definitely be allowed to do writing for CAS. It does not matter what language it is in. However I would still suggest asking your IB Co-ordinator first because some co-coordinators are different and simply don't allow certain things. If your Co-ordinator doesn't allow it, you can try convincing him/her by extending this idea and do this writing for some event or something, you could possibly even write something like a play that can be performed and make it a CAS project if you want to. turtle turtle
The easiest way to go about it is to write blogs. Then you get a lot of planning and working hours, just make sure your coordinator will allow it Reply
