Hey everyone! I've had this thought cross my mind recently. Since cyber-bullying is becoming such a big problem around the world, I've thought about gathering students from different IB world schools and share, or post information about cyber-bullying. This could be counted as a CAS activity for you since you're raising awareness for something and helping people around the world. Would anyone be willing to initiate this with me? If you have more ideas/advice, feel free to post them, I'm open for any suggestions. Also, I'll be using blogger (blogspot.com) for this, so you (sadly) will have to

So I want to do something music related for my CAS project. I think just practicing my piano should count for Creativity. If I volunteer to teach lessons to some kids in my neighborhood could that count as Service? And do you guys know anything that could count for the Action/Activity?

Okay hi everyone! I'm new to the site and this is my first post so be nice.. My CAS coordinator suggested that i should set up a website for the IB community in our school because I'm quite good with technology and computers so I accepted. Now the problem is, I want it to look as professional as i can make it look. By that I mean it should be at least up to the standard as an amateur forum. I just wanted to ask how i could set up a page like this one, what software i need to use, any code needed? Thank you in advance!

Hey guys, I had a quick question -- I have recently heard that students cannot have any gaps in their CAS timeline. In other words, I heard that we are expected to have at least one ongoing CAS experience throughout all of Grade 11 and 12. Is this true?

Hey, for my CAS project, I am doing a Pen Pal project with some DP and MYP kids at my school. If you are interested in participating in this project, the only requirements are: you are currently either a DP or MYP student and you go to school outside of the US and Canada. Email me at [email protected]

Hi everyone! I have been focusing a lot on my CAS experiences to try to get them out of the way from the second year apart for two/three that I normally do. I have done tons of creativity, service and activity. According to Mange Bac, I have 100% of my CAS done and I have not uploaded some of my reflections on the site yet. The experiences I plan to keep are only Service and Activity, there would be no creativity. I did a service trip with my school and there we did so much stuff about creativity I think it would be more than enough. So I was wondering if I had to keep doing

I was hoping to start a blog in order to add up to my creativity section of CAS but I'm not sure if I can do it since it will not have any supervisor. Can I make my CAS coordinator sign it or do i even need a supervisor for such CAS? Thanks for the help!

My school's CAS coordinator met with all the juniors after school this past week. He said that if we were doing a CAS activity outside of school, we had to get a letterhead paper from the activity's supervisor (Ex: doing Creativity hours by going to a piano lesson where I am being supervised by my piano teacher) describing what you did. He never specified that you needed a reflection for it. However, I've heard that you have to do a reflection on the activity, get it signed by your advisor, and you're all set. This has left me really confused. If anyone knows what to do, please tell me!

Hi I was planning to do a runathon myself where I ask people to give me money for each lap/km that I do. I am not very good at running so the planning part is where I improve my own running skills. The fund gathered will then be gathered to a charity that I haven't decided upon yet. There is also an app that I've found online which makes them donate money to a charity of my choice for the distance that I've ran. I want to ask if this sounds like an acceptable CAS project, if not how can I make it one or what are some other suggestions.

Dividing CAS Hours for organizing a TEDx
garg.molugarg posted a topic in Creativity, Action, Service
Hello! This is my first post on the forum. Basically, my friend and I organized a TEDx Conference at our school, and spent roughly 3 months organizing it, from getting speakers, setting stages and getting materials. Anyways, when we went to our CAS Supervisor he only gave us 18 hours for the event - 8 Creativity and 10 Service - for the event, saying that we made the posters and promotional material in about 2 days so 8 hours of creativity for that, and we spent about 10 hours of running around, 8 on the event day, and 2 before that so 10 hours of activity total and 0 service hours. -
Here's someone's CAS blog I found, might be worth taking a peek if you're unsure of what to do. our-horizons.simplesite.com

(sorry if this is in the wrong forum) How exactly will you go about doing programming/web-programming for CAS? What exactly do you have to program, and how can it count of CAS? Thanks

I NEED HELP AND VERY GOOD IDEAS Every year, the DP students are encouraged to participate in business week, which is a week where we sell products. Before this year, students were able to sell food but this year they have changed the rules a bit. Now we have to sell actual products that we have ti make ourselves and before we sell, we have to pitch to the investors (legitimately) and try and get investment (debt). The product that will be invested on must last one week, and it has to be only one product, through out 5 days. Down side Our school has a diminutive amount of student

So I had an unorthodox idea for my creativity section for CAS hours. My sister wanted to do a youtube Gaming channel with me and I was able to use that as part of my creativity sessions. I had another idea to play Dungeons and Dragons with some friends of mine who are also in the IB. I'm wondering if it's viable for me to use my experience being and Dungeon Master in Dungeons and Dragons as Creativity hours? I would also need some form of Activity item, and service item (if you couldn't already tell, I don't like doing too much activity)

Hello, For the C part of CAS, my fellow students and I decided that we want to make a blog where we review good TV shows. The details of the blog are as follows. The website was created by me, but each student is assigned their own TV show and tab on the website. They create their own content and upload it themselves. Although there are 6 tabs on the website, it is simply a forum of sorts. It is not collaborative in nature, and everyone does their own work. My question is this: Does this fulfill the requirement for creativity for CAS? Any feedback arguing either

So next year I will be going for my IB Honors diploma and need help on deciding what to do and how to do it. I have two problems: Action and creativity hours. For action, I am generally nonathletic and am shy and do not know what to do. I am thinking about joining the swim team because of many friends. Also I am thinking about taking parkour classes but fear I would be alone and awkward. If anyone has any better or easier options that would be appreciated. For creativity I want to know if I can count the art I do at home someway. Since I know I need a supervisor but cant use my

Hey everyone! My friends and I wanted to create a magazine sort of thing which has advice on how to survive the IB for the pre-IB students at our school and anyone who is starting the DP programme. We were wondering if that idea could count for CAS, specifically creativity. It will involve designing the actual magazine as well as writing the posts. Would that be approved by IB for creativity hours?

Hi everyone! Need CAS hours, but not sure where to start? Passionate about writing and society? Stop looking. The Modern Filament wants YOU. We are looking for new writers for our digital student-run newspaper focusing on critiquing contemporary societal issues. Whether you’re an economic enthusiast or a social justice warrior, this is a great way to get creativity/service hours and give yourself a voice in our dynamic world. There is no limit on what you can write about, but your articles must be analytical in nature. Ready? Let’s get started.

Hi fellow IB students, Just need a couple of CAS hours? Not sure what do for a CAS project? My name’s Ashley and my online CAS project might be the solution. The idea is to make a website written by IB students, based on exploring cultural differences. Interview questions will be sent out to everyone who will then send back their response (around a paragraph) with pictures and these responses will then be collated on the website. You can be an individual writer, or you can be a coordinator, collecting responses from others in your class. Or if you would like to ma

Hey guys, I am on my 2nd year now. My score on the 1st year was around 30 points. Do you know of any creative course? I thought about Marketing, tho my passion would be Creative Writing or something similar. I love writing but as an alternative creative BAs are also to consider as Animation and Gaming, although that would be just a "free time". I don't know I just wanted to base my future job on something related to creating, though I didn't want to enroll on a pony course... Creative Writing would be my number 1 option. Do you know of any college/country where it is a "developed" area (w

So school's starting real soon and I have no idea how the CAS thing works. How many hours / activities do I have to complete throughout the 2 years? If I start a CAS Project, does it count towards CAS hours?
