ellie
Hey guys! I'm starting IB in autumn and I have a lot of free time on my hands for the next month or so (perks of being an exchange student!) I'm weak at Math, yet probably taking SL, so I've been thinking about practicing before school starts, with help from ye almighy Internet (Khan Academy firsthand) -- what topics do you think would be most useful to cover before SL?Thanks a lot! JonR
If you google 'IB maths SL subject guide' and download the subject guide, you'll find a section called 'presumed knowledge'. Making sure you're comfortable with everything covered there would probably be your best bet. 2 Reply
emmapatregnani
You can get the oxford course companion and do the presumed knowledge chapter on there. It'll probably take you a short amount of time so having the book will allow you to start looking at the actual course itself. Good luck That book is the best one Reply
Chio1012
I found differentiation/integration hard concepts to understand at first but after a lot of practice, I got them pretty well. I was also weak in binomial expansion even during the exam so for me, those are the hardest topics out of the entire syllabus. You can scan through it and see what you want to practice first though. 1 Reply
