Required level of IB math for pursuing computer eng. in a university

Hey

I was just wondering as to what level of ib math (HL or SL) is required to pursue a degree in computer engineering.
At the beginning of the year, I opted for math HL. However, since then, I have been struggling with the subject.

My teachers recently suggested that I take Math SL instead of HL.

I am a little skeptical as to weather I should do so, since I believe to pursue any engineering degree in most colleges requires one to be proficient in mathematics IE take a higher level of math.

Requesting for the guidance of all members of the forum.

Thanks :D

For universities that aren't MIT/Carnegie Mellon/Georgia Tech/etc you can enter with SL math, but you will have to catch up in your math sequence. The level of math you do in engineering is beyond that of the HL math syllabus, keep that in mind.

At my school, computer engineering majors take:

Calculus I (single-variable differential calculus)

Calculus II (single-variable integral calculus, sequences and series)

Linear Algebra

Differential Equations

Calculus-based probability and statistics

Which is a common sequence of math for most accredited engineering programs
