In assuming that your French is your Language B (Group 2) subject, then you could choose to do your EE on either analysing the language, its impact/relation to culture/society or literature itself. Your EE must be focused on matters related to the target culture, so you can't just have any research question. I highly recommend you take a look at the EE syllabus - it'll outline the type of EE you could possibly write and also has example questions to give you some ideas. Hope this answers your question!
