I just wanted to know whether this would be a good topic to research on: "How the usage of lighting, cinematography, and mise-en-scene helps portray the balance of power in mafia genre films". I picked two films, "The Godfather" and "City of God" (foreign). If the topic is good, could you please give me any tips? (for example, overall tips on writing the independent study?) You can't say the usage of lighting, cinematography and mise-en-scene because lighting and cinematography are all part of mise-en-scene! Just say: How the usage of mise-en-scene helps portray...And you are going to have to choose more than 2 films if you want a level 7 independent study.To be honest though I don't think your research question is very strong. You have the general idea but it has to be stronger.
