Blackcurrant
You'll have to do that for yourself. We can hint and suggest, but you can't just ask us for topics.Start by telling us 1) what areas you have studied in the course 2) which of these you want to explore more through an FOA. Try to figure out what could be topics and we can help you refine from there. Edited December 4, 2013 by Blackcurrant 2 Reply
Haris587
I was sort of thinking about the topic "how culture influences economic outcomes" as i am fairly interested in economics, but i will miss out the language part. So it may not be that relevant. Reply
spacescampi
You could talk about how different economic terms is used in for instance a news article, how well the author have used it and if it's relevant. But make sure you stay focused on the language part 1 Reply
Blackcurrant
Yes, spacescampi is on to something. You could also examine how these economic terms are used to present a certain worldview, which you could argue has repercussions on how we treat the environment or each other. Beware of making giant leaps into hyperspace though. Stay grounded and focused on the text /sample passages.Or perhaps show how economic language permeates our everyday talk (which again you could argue has repercussions on how we view friendship, social/sexual relations, sports, etc). Is there an economics of war, I wonder? How war is described more in economic terms than in the ecological or spiritual... 1 Reply
