Tahsim Ahmed
Hi there!I am writing my economics macro-commentary for the first time, and I am not sure what is consisted in a good macro-commentary. Could you rate my article and give me some pointers? I am completely lost...Here's the article:http://www.nytimes.com/2013/03/11/business/economy/after-corporate-upswing-hopes-grow-for-a-consumer-revival.html?pagewanted=1&_r=0&pagewanted=print By the way it's for my IA portfolio. PLEASE REPLY ASAP, this is due very soon, and I need to start. Edited March 12, 2013 by Tahsim Ahmed Reply
dniviE
Way too long article. I did read some part of it, but it is over one page in NY Times. That is too long. This is what I suggest you do:1. Find a new article that is shorter (about 300-400 words) and more concise. It should be focused on one concept in Macroeconomics (search keywords: consumer confidence, interest rate changes, aggregate demand, unemployment, inflation). Search major news outlets (The Guardian, news.google.com, NY Times tend to have longer articles so avoid them, Reuters). Remember that the source for each of the articles you have in your portfolio has to be unique (ie. you can't use two articles from the Guardian in the same portolio).2. Take a look at the guides that are already on IBS on how to write Economics commentaries (here: http://www.ibsurvival.com/topic/11573-tips-for-economics-portfolio-commentary/ , here: http://www.ibsurvival.com/topic/22435-economics-internal-assessment-evaluation-part/ and here: http://www.ibsurvival.com/topic/9088-sources-for-economics-portfolio/)Rating of article 3/10Good luck!
