thebrownindianguy
Hi.I'm really confused as to whether students are allowed to use the latest 3rd edition question banks or not. Some of the students at my school use the QB's, but the program is pirated (they din't buy them). Is that allowed? Some people asked said the IBO could deny you a diploma if they found out, other people said its completely allowed. So what is it?Thanks for any info!PS: If its allowed, does IBsurvival allow posting links to sites that have the pirated files? 1 Reply
dniviE
By the IBO we are allowed to use the IB Question Banks. Why would they limit students from buying it? They earn money from those pieces of software and it helps student to excel so it is really a win-win situation for them. No, pirating the software is not allowed as the IBO has copyright on their software (not that anyone cares anyways). No, they cannot deny you the diploma - it is not included in failing conditions. No, IBSurival does not allow the posting of pirated version of the IB Question Banks. TykeDragon
How extensive are the question banks if you buy them? Am I wrong in thinking that these are the questions used for the exams? I thought that for a lot of them they made up the questions Reply
Sandwich
Questionbanks are just programmes that give you collections of past paper questions, organised by topic. The idea is that teachers can make design-your-own exam papers from them. It gives you the question, the answer and also examiners notes about errors in the question/what was done well/what was done badly. Technically if you had every single past paper and mark scheme, you'd have a Questionbank, but the Questionbank format is infinitely more accessible and helpful. 2 Reply
