citizenoftheuniverse
If they they don't take you, it's crazy and there is no hope for the rest of us . Your grades are excellant and your extracurriculars are out of this world. Literally. You sound like such a good applicant that I almost feel like you post that here just to brag. You have a near perfect score with 4 HL subjects. 44/45. That is really impressive. Combined with extracurriculars that make the rest of us look bad. If they didn't take you, they could only take students with 45 points who cured cancer lol. So basically, students better than you are near impossible to find. Unless there is some huge drawback to you as a student which you haven't revealed, I would say you have a 100% chance at entry. 80% is way too conservative. You are amazing, I bow down to your awesomeness. You probably just wrote that here for an ego boost, but I'm gonna give it to you anyway . Be happy because applicants don't come any better. 1 Reply
dubyawhy
Thanks guys! Haha I really wasn't posting for the ego boost...everyone told me BBA(Law) at HKU is extremely competitive, and nobody can be sure of my chances...so I was legitimately concerned! I've added information for Singaporean universities too - if anyone knows the admission standards for those unis, please tell Reply
Guest HayashiEsme
Well if it's not too late, I'll throw my opinions into the mix. On the topic of Singapore Universities, I think you'll stand out amongst everyone. We've got loads of 45 pointers out of ACS Independent which really crowds out IB admissions in NUS - I know of somebody who's gotten rejected with a 42. Admission to NUS is only hard because there's only so many people they can admit into each course, and that's why they will be really picky with who they decide to bring in. I will argue though, that with Singapore, it's mainly a numbers game, so it is in your best interest to get as close to the 45 as possible. There's less emphasis on the other achievements, in reality. With that said NUS really respects the big names you've been to in your little CV, and they'll definitely appreciate the leadership (not to mention the role in hiring the principal) Not too sure about SMU though, but if you can get into NUS, you're superman in my eyes when it comes to admissions. All the best on applying:) You seem to be the only other Singaporean person on this board, so feel free to drop a PM my way if you want to know anything about here really:) Reply
