Doppel
This question has probably been asked a few times. Either way, I'm wondering if anyone knows roughly what sub-topics to revise prior to doing the BMAT. Is there, for example, any point in revising the plants parts of IB Bio HL, or is the biology focus strictly on physiology? Reply
larrut
I think BMAT is only based on GCSE sciences so if that includes plants, then plants you must know. You probably won't need to know as much as Biology HL Plant Science for BMAT.Hope it helped. Reply
Jaydon
You're so lucky in Great Britain to have BMAT. In Australia (well, Queensland at least) we have UMAT, which is a similar test to get into Medicine (stands for Undergraduate Medicine and Health Sciences Admission Test) but it's not about anything health-related, which IB students would go well at. Instead it's like another one of those IQ tests for part of it, the first part is verbal reasoning, the second part is human relationship understanding (identifying emotions, ethics, etc.) and the third part is non-verbal reasoning, which is those stupid bloody patterns where you have to predict the next in the sequence. The University of Queensland and Bond University accept UMAT to get in, and their grade boundaries for medicine are a little bit lower (40 and 38 respectively) but Griffith University doesn't even use UMAT for its program, however the IB cutoff is 44. Fourty-four. Reply
