IronLithium
Hi everyone, I just received my maths IA about complex number. In part A, one of the instruction is: "prove your conjecture"What does it mean exactly? Are we supposed to find a formula or something? Thanks a lot for your help! I appreciate it Reply
macrofire
If you read through the bullet points above the one "prove your conjecture", then you will notice that you are doing an investigation with the expressions z^3-1=0, z^4-1=0 etc. Create a conjecture about whatever you see. Now prove it. Reply
IronLithium
okay thanks Another question, in bullet no.4, it says: "measure these line segments and comment on your results"what does it mean by 'comment' here? Reply
macrofire
Again, treat this assignment as an investigation of the complex numbers. After you follow the steps, take note of anything peculiar. Math IAs are analogous to any other investigation, like chemistry. If you mixed unknown substance A with some solution B, you get pure gold (in this investigation, comment on the reactions...the reactants).Does this make sense?
