Guest ragdoll
Can I work at a store for free as my service ? I've emailed my teacher and asked but he's the kind of guy that never responds Reply
Jaymi
I dont think so. Unless you're doing something to help globally (i.e. if you're working at an old age home, at a spca, at an orphanage) somewhere where you can make a difference. I doubt you can do this by working in an ordinary store, even if you're not getting paid for it. Reply
CkyBlue
Unlike my lovely friend above thinks, I would say it would count as CAS. All you need is a supervisor and you could say you're doing service hours. I'm not sure if you guys have to check off learning outcomes or something, but as long as you can make something up about that things should be fine. Those reflections are just talking about how you might be learning new things, how did you feel coming in and out of the activity, etc. Reply
Kristen Gameau
I think it would depend what type of store it was. If you were simply selling groceries at a supermarket, I'm not sure this would count for CAS Service hours, as generally you have to be doing a community service, rather than a service for a company. ParadiseNotForMe
In my honest opinion, if you can find some way to make it seem like CAS, it is CAS But this would definitely be a service activity. Don't try to stretch it too far by saying it's action or creativity. Reply
