Hearts
Sooner or later, am going to have to embark on the painstaking journey of writing my era on schema theory.I'm in IB1 if that makes a difference at all. In any case, we've been given a rough template, that isn't IB prescribed, and i know that the era will be marked by some IB scheme, but I'm still a little lost as to how to go about structuring the ERA'S! any guidelines or such thingo's that might help to structure and compile the report?greatly appreicated!ciao Edited June 13, 2012 by Hearts Reply
Shahad
Well it depends on your school I guess.Like in my IB1 we were required to write eras that were nothing like the actual internal assessment era.So i think you should ask your teacher for the criteria you will be marked on.But the general format should always apply.Imagine the era as an hour glass. You start of pretty general, like introduce schema theory in your introduction.Include a study. Then you get specific in terms of what exactly you investigated.Btw, what exactly did you investigate?I did my era in IB1 on schema theory as well.Anyway, then towards end of into you include aim, hypothesis.the discussion should be the other way around.you discuss the results you got specifically and provide some explanation.then you get broader.By discussing the limitations of your experiment. As in, what factors could have influenced the results you obtained?Such as participant bias, demand characteristics, uncontrolled environment and such. Here's a rough guideline of an era:- Abstract: write last.- Introduction- Method Design Participants Materials Procedure- Results- Discussion- References- Appendices Edited June 13, 2012 by Shahad 1 Reply
