wuhoo
I recorded my oral assessment for mandarin B SL recently and while I think my individual portion for the first 4 minutes was ok (I am Chinese but my pronunciation and vocabulary is really awful) my question and answer session with my teacher was horrible. We went back and forth for only about two minutes with me too nervous to do more than very short answers and he finally just ended the assessment at 6 minutes. I'm completely nerve wracked because it's so far from the 10 minute requirement. Is this as bad as I think it is or am I just overreacting? Andyboi
aw I'm sorry to hear that your oral didn't go as well as expected. I take mandarin ab initio and it is BY FAR my most challenging class, especially attempting the pronunciation. I'm sure IB is looking for quality over quantity so as long as what you did was good I think you'll be fine And besides even if you do "mess up" on the IA you still have time to redeem yourself on the external exams! ppincus
I'm wondering why your teacher didn't carry on to question you till the preferred 10 minute recording? Reply
