Bradley
Would it be a good idea to do a EE based on a promotional campaign, as an evaluation of it's success? My plan is to look at how successful the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 promotional campaign was. Would this be a good focus for the EE, or not? Reply
ILM
when talking about EE, you are talking about rigid theoretical background with also rigid research. If you can make an ee which contain those things, then I may say yes. 1 Reply
kiwi.at.heart
It can work, as long as you can show a whole lot of critical thinking and analysis. You will need to be able to show why the campaign was successful, not that it just was but if you can make sure your EE fulfils criteria, it might be a success. Bradley
Even though MW3 did do amazingly well in sales, there has been an article written publicy critiquing the marketing for being hideous for how it portrays warfare and states that there is a solider in all of us. Would it be good to mention this as a downside of the marketing campiagn or keep it more quantative in terms of how successful the sales were? kiwi.at.heart
You want to look at it from every angle, so yes, if something is relevant mention it, but if it doesn't support the argument you are trying to make, then explain why it was insignificant to the final result. Bradley
Ah, that makes sense. Because the target market of Call of Duty are not the type who will read Grady's internet coloumn the article posted on it will not affect the impetus of the Call of Duty phenomenon. Something like that? Reply
Guest
Look, I know enough about the COD series to say that your really won't find much content to write about. Who are you going to compare it against? (if you compare it) Which title was as popular?Anyhow, if you DO go ahead with it, here's a sample Research question: "To what extent was the promotion by the Infinity Ward lead to the major success of its Call Of duty Franchise?"or something to that extent. Good luck!Cheers! Reply
