pigsonthewing
oh snappppydoodle!from a brief read the topic seems complex and highly philosophical, not to mention you NEED to have a basic backgroundFreudknowledge. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychoanalytical_film_theoryI used my wonderful google-ing skills. is this sort of what you're looking for? (check out the links at the bottom of the page.. they look helpful... mhm?) Reply
Proletariat
Seemed like someone watched Un Chien Andalou? =PI'm surprised that you're doing this in class tbh. I never went anywhere near something like this, although I would have liked to. It sounds to me like the analysis of a film at the subconscious level, and I don't understand how that kind of analysis is applicable or relevant to what one would do in IB Film. Polo
I think that psychoanalysis in movies can be understood in many ways. Lots of movies focus on psychoanalysis of characters in a movie or a group of people. Good example is Kurosawa's 'Rashomon' that exemines causes of the behaviour of people involved in a murder.Basically in every good movie (if it's not a Tarantino's flick) there is some psychoanalysis.
