Slovakov Posted April 19, 2011 Report Share Posted April 19, 2011 In my school it's chosen by the teacher.For the patterns within systems of linear equations, you need to know above all the linear equations , some geometry (intersection of planes), basics of sequences and some derivatives. And when they choose, they wouldn't choose a task if they haven't taught the students a topic that is crucial to the task. If you feel that your IA needs you to learn a topic you haven't learnt in class, there must be an alternative other than using that method.So don't worry.And sorry I also don't know about the How Many Pieces task.
