It really depends on what you want out of a degree.b) Firstly, for maths: Cambridge,Oxford, Dundee, Imperial College, Durham, Bristol in that order. For Physics: Cambridge,Oxford, Imperial College, Durham and St. Andrews. I don't know much about Physics and Phy&Math (combined) majors, but if you are good at both Phy and Math, I suggest you to go into Engineering rather than Math.The Engineering major itself applies both Phy&Math in real life situations. Obvious examples would be Aerospace Eng, Automobile Eng and Agricultural Eng. I think it guarantees you a good job with a high pay. Engineers are needed in many places. You can also be a researcher. Or at least if you fail you can be a teacher.Whereas a Math major does not really get you a good job... You will probably end up being a lecturer or a teacher. Being a mathematician...for the rest of your life. I heard the course itself (Pure Math) is very challenging btw. And I don't want to waste my 4 years in uni studying a tough major and ending up being a teacher...with a low pay I don't know much about Physics and the double major but I still recommend Engineering! I suggest finding out more about the course. I have them somewhere in my notebook so it takes a while to find ^^ That'll be for University ranking in the US only. The best source for UK Universities (which I assume you want as you posted this in the UK section!) would be stuff like the Guardian's Rankings (http://www.guardian.co.uk/education/universityguide) and the Times Online ranking (http://extras.timesonline.co.uk/stug/universityguide.php). There is a course called "Natural Sciences" though where you can pick all Physics options if you want.
