Julie
As far as I know, yes you can. Our school has two english teachers. One student chose not to have his own english teacher as his supervisor, yet the other one. H didn't encounter any problems. Just check with your school as well. It could be that they only want the teacher who actually teaches the subject to you to be your supervisor because they will already be familiar with how and how well you work and write. fan
You can get any teacher from your school that teaches the subject you are doing your EE on.. you are not restricted to the teacher that teachers you. Well at least at our school we are not..
Mahuta ♥
Like they said above, yes that's possible. The supervisor doesn't have to be your teacher, just like you can do an EE in a subject that you're taking in IB.

dessskris
Do you mean a teacher in your school who does not teach you, or your teacher who does not teach at your school (i.e. lessons or private tutor)?Responsibilities of the schoolIt is required that the school ensures that each student has an appropriately qualified supervisor, who is a teacher within the school.(EE Guide 2009, page 7)So your supervisor can be a teacher at your school who does not teach in your class, but they cannot be a teacher outside your school.
