Lab Report Ideas for chem SL

My teacher says to think about what I want to learn in Chemistry, but I don't even know!!!!

Er, is that designing an experiment? A design lab report? I don't know if it's just my school but usually the teacher gives us the topic or the chemicals and then we design an experiment out of it. I'd recommend a simple one: titration.

But if you have submitted 2 topics before and both got rejected, I don't think it's an IA. What exactly are you asked to do?

Equilibrium! Find a equilibrium reaction where the products and reactants are VERY different colors, mess with some of le chatlier's principles and see what you get by doing this and that to the reaction conditions.

Even though it's HL, definitely titrations for DCP, easy marks, and titrations aren't that difficult.

For design look at topics like oxidation and reduction, energetics, acids and bases

I did one internal assessment on dissolved oxygen in water and adding magnesium chloride to the water. Feel free to do something similar because I ended up dropping out of chemistry. It was a really good experiment, according to my teacher, it was worth an IB6

Energetics, Displacement reaction.

Very easy Design component and with good results.

CE component would also be easily tackled, especially the evaluation due to the obvious source of error, "heat loss"

Combustion of fuels? I am not sure you did this in SL, but the burning ethanol and propanol, then seeing which one produces the most energy by having a flask containing water and seeing the increase in temperature.

It's very easy..and there are so many things you can mention in the evaluation.
