Metal.
Would I be allowed to do a History IA about how Jack in the Box hiring David Theno after their E. coli outbreak in 1993 help their public image? The outbreak was in 1993, but I would be comparing sales and public polls about the company from then and throughout the years up to 2007. I know it isn't supposed to be about something that happened within the last 10 years, but I wasn't sure if this might be acceptable since it occurred 17 years ago. Thanks. JoeG
The only major problem I see with this topic is that it's somewhat trivial. I know that many people got horribly sick from the E. coli outbreak, but why does this matter to history? If you can find some significance to the topic, then that's fine. Metal.
It'll include things about how David Theno changed the policies at Jack in the Box to become basically the number one food safety fast food restaurant. I guess sort of like a pioneer in the area. Reply
Metal.
The real question is basically that since it is supposed to be something not within the past 10 years if this would be okay since it happened 17 years ago even though I will compare it to statistics in the 2000s? booth
This sounds more like a paper for Economics rather than History. 1 Reply

Ruan Chun Xian
What's the historical significance of this? What do historians say about this event, if anything at all? The topic certainly will be "allowed" if your teacher okays it but will it get a high mark? Probably not. 1 Reply
