ibibib1022
Hi I was just wondering if we can get CAS hours for clarinet practicing at home..Thank you! Reply
dessskris
That might be possible if there is an adult supervisor (which might be a clarinet teacher or at least a music teacher) because you know right that they will take part in ur CAS Reflection. if this is like a lesson, a clarinet class, your teacher could be a supervisor and so you can do this for CAS.otherwise, if you are like just playing on your own, for fun or leisure, that might not count.however you may want to ask your school's CAS coordinators for a more certain answer, or maybe even suggestions. kingdomx
In my school, practicing or taking lessons for an instrument only counts if it's part of the preparation for your completion of a higher level grade exam. However, the situation for every school is different, so it is best if you were to refer to your CAS coodinator, before making any individual decisions at this stage. Julie
I've been taking violin for 11 years. The way my CAS coordinators counts my CAS hours is by having my violin professor add up all the private classes I had, than estimate, according to how often I came to class, how well I played, etc. the number of hours I practiced. Than, my professor signed the specific form my school requires (I'm not sure if other school use the same system) and it was all accepted.
