lofike
I'm on my second yeah of IB and have dropped higher math to standard math, since i would get a faster response here, does anyone know a university in Canada or US (not counting UBC) that allows me to apply for a computer science course with me taking SL maths. or is there any other alternative cause Virginia tech replied saying i need higher math to apply, and my sister said for certain uni's they allow pre req courses i can take. so then i would be taking mathematics course while doing computer science.so bottom line question, any university allows me to apply computer science course with my sl math course.or any optional route for me to take like taking pre required courses in uni e.g. maths, while doing computer science. Chocaholic
Uh pretty much all the universities in Canada allow math SL when applying for computer sciences except Waterloo although one of my friends still got accepted there even though he only had standard level math. For example, Dalhousie University, McGill, University of Toronto... there's tons. Reply

Chocaholic
Aha, well I was taking four HL but my history which I was going to take SL got combined with the History HL class so...I was like what ever. Might as well test out in HL since I'm going to be learning everything anyways. Reply
Summer Glau
Isn't there a maximum of 4 HLs? Reply
Chocaholic
No to my knowledge as long as your school can schedule them in you can do five. And somehow mine did o.o Reply
Summer Glau
I've honestly never ever heard of that...my school won't even let us do 4 HLs xP Do you do the extra HL as a certificate or something? Reply
Chocaholic
No, it just works out in my class schedule. I really think it's just chance. I'm also doing 2 summer school courses in the public school program so I'll get my regular high school diploma in French and English. Gonna be a tough 2 years. MinaDoan
To the universities, I think it depends on your interview as well.Don't they have any bridging course like Uni In Australia? Anw, aim for a good mark... in case you found out any case they accepted :-) Reply
Chocaholic
Also, the best way to find out for sure is to call the universities you're interested in. Or, even better, get your guidance councilors to figure it out. That's their job! Edited September 16, 2010 by Chocaholic Reply
