JoeG
Do you think that the white rat in Watson's experiment grew to have an emotional response of fear to Little Albert, or any other humans in the experiment? I know that Little Albert was classically conditioned to have a fear of the white rat, but I wondered if it is the other way around. So what do all of you think? blindpet
Do you think that the white rat in Watson's experiment grew to have an emotional response of fear to Little Albert, or any other humans in the experiment? I know that Little Albert was classically conditioned to have a fear of the white rat, but I wondered if it is the other way around. So what do all of you think? If anything it could have occurred if the rat paired the gong with the presence of Little Albert, but I doubt it. Rats definitely learn via classical conditioning but I wouldn't say they develop phobias to loud noises cause they probably just get habituated to them instead. Also, there were so many people in the room at the time I'm sure the rat was ****ting its pants anyway and the gong was the least of its concerns. Check out all of the flaws in the experimental methodology entitled What ever happened to Little Albert? Reply
JoeG
I didn't think of it that way. I guess the people would be the focus of the rat, rather than other stimuli lol. Reply
