stylusdef
Oh, alright. Well, some people say it's incredibly boring writing EEs in Economics, but that's probably just a matter of opinion. Reply
deissi
What I've heard is that it's impossible to get an A if you do it on Economics... It's like getting a 7 in English A1 HL... Reply
Forester
3 people in a class of 11 got a 7 in English A1 HL in my school. It's not impossible. From the graduates at my school, I've heard that the easiest EEs are on Eco. And never do a science EE, because your experiment(s) might not work out. tvd7
I'm about to begin research in Economics for my EE and so far I've actually found that it's the most popular subject chosen to write it in in the whole grade. I'd say about 1/4 of the students are doing it, and that's how many are taking Economics anyways! Reply
deissi
Yeh, Economics tends to be quite popular. What are you planning to do your EE about? Micro or Macroeconomics? Reply
__inthemaking
I did my EE in history but I have friends who did their EE in economics. One of them talked about the US military expenditures-is it economically efficient? Reply
deissi
One of them talked about the US military expenditures-is it economically efficient? Yeah, "Was it economically efficient to subcontract the rebuilding of Iraq to **** Cheney instead of submitting it to open competition?" anahitapaul
hi ok i want to do my ee in economics as well ...but am completely lost as to what topics to do! i need some HELP please ....i thought of one topic but its really common .... Reply
deissi
The fact that it's a common topic is not a bad thing at all. One common topic I know of is Are the firms X and Y price-takers or price-givers?But anahitapaul, we can't give you a ready topic here - instead you'll have to find your own and we can help you fine-tune it. master135
Do you need to incorporate and analyse statistics/data in an economics EEs or are they similar to the economics Internal Assessments?? Reply
deissi
They're not similar to IAs. Basically it's not analyzing an article, but instead you find something you research, for example:"The effect of the Finnish alcohol tax increase on liquor store revenue"or"Are the souvenir stands in place X price-takers or price-givers""To what extent does the market for bolts remind perfect competition"So it's your own investigation, but you can use help from other articles (obviously). master135
Oh ok. What i meant was can it be just analysis...or do you need to collect raw data yourself to analyze? Reply
deissi
Well you need raw data but it doesn't have to be collected by yourself- you can use statistics made by other people Reply
Estrovald
heya, my extended was about the price sensitivity of the aircraft industry (case study Airbus) considering the current events which took place in germany in 07. Was actually quite hard in the end to collect some sort of primary data: In fact i just did a survey at an international airport in order to determine the price elasticity of demand. I think you should write about something which leads to oligopoly 1) you can write a lot bout the topic 2) you can show your knowledge (kinked demand curve etc.) 3) You should have covered the topic in HL anyway soo good luck with ur essay!
