MMM
I'm thinking of going into Architecture but I'm getting mixed advice about Ryerson Architecture compared to Waterloo. What does IB survival think? So far, probably 7 in HL economics, 6-7 in SL chem for sure, probably 5 in HL Math, probably 7 in SL Physics, 6-7 in HL computer studies, 5-6 for english. greaterthaninfinity
DEFINITELY Waterloo architecture. For a professional programme where such a high degree of variance could be involved in terms of the skill set of the candidate pools for potential jobs, you want to go for the safer school. I've heard nothing but good things about Waterloo architecture. Ryerson is definitely a growing school but if you had the choice, it'd be definitely more beneficial in the long run to go to Waterloo. Especially considering your grades are well above the grade requirements for both schools. Edited March 7, 2010 by greaterthaninfinity Reply
powa2
I have to concur with greaterthaninfinity, Waterloo's architecture is famous for the quality of its alumni. It's also excellent for the teacher ratio, usually in the upper classes it's 7-10 pupil's per teacher. The best part of the programme at Waterloo has to be the coop for architecture, you can basically pay back any tuition fee with coop and they usually send a lot of students to great firms for placement. __inthemaking
I have a friend in her second year of Waterloo arch and she loves it. I also have a friend who applied to Waterloo arch and got rejected and is now going to Ryerson for arch instead. <- Take from that what you will I don't know enough about the structure of either of the programs to comment on which I think is better though.
