The IV is immediate recall / delay recall but I'm not sure of the precise operationalisation of the DV (disappearing recency effect) - would it be for each person find how many of the last 5 words were remembered (then means from 0-5 should be different per condition) or for each word in the last 5 how many people remembered it (then means from 0-number of people)? The second seems closer to the original paper but then only gets me 5 pieces of data per condition (however big the sample) & I think I need 10... Sorry if I explained it badly!
