Gilly
I've heard that the world limit is flexible - that you can write up to 1650 words and you will not be penalised. Is this accurate?
Tilia
It says in the criteria that in order to get higher marks, you have to be within the prescribed word limit
moneyfaery
A word limit of 1000 to 1500 words is already pretty flexible. If you go any higher, you run the risk of losing unnecessary marks. Your call.
Sandwich
Your call, but you can only get a max of level 3 on presentation if you don't stick to the word limit, and with essays of only 1500, it's pretty obvious when you exceed it. You'd be banking on them not noticing, and you'd also have to lie in the official word count you give them.
Gilly
Okay I have cut down to 1500 so words so no matter now - works cited, the question, coversheet and footnotes would surely not count to the limit, right?

Although you didn't mention those, thought I'd add it to be safe Edited May 3, 2009 by Sandwich
