Pseudorandomness as a topic for Maths IA

I've gotten to the stage where I need to write my IA in Maths AA HL.

When it came to brainstorming I had an idea that I ended up pursuing in my Extended Essay (pathfinding algorithms) so I was left with nothing for the IA. I started researching pseudorandomness and a mathematical approach to it but it seems to me I bit off more than I can chew.

There are ideas of recursions, sums and normal numbers but I don't really see how I could apply it to this format.

For example, there is a function which was proved as a way to generate normal numbers which can, in turn, be used to randomly generate numbers but would I have to prove it myself in the paper? Help :(
