IB_sucks
I'm thinking about doing my world lit essay on a link between Men in the Sun and The Outsider (stranger), any ideas or feedback on this choice would be very helpful. Reply
Zasxee
Maybe compare/contrast how both works were able to show struggle in their status (the Greasers and refugees). Is it for WL 1 or WL 2? Reply
IB_sucks
Maybe compare/contrast how both works were able to show struggle in their status (the Greasers and refugees). Is it for WL 1 or WL 2?It's for WL 1. I was thinking about doing a comparison on how the sun is used, would that be something "creative". Reply
Hyperbole
No, the creative thing is where you write something fictional. It might be a pastiche (imitating an author's style or using an author's story for a different kind of text) or... actually, the creative part would probably be called a pastiche no matter what you do with it, because it has to be based on some of the literature you've read. Besides, there is only a creative option for WL2.However, it might be original-creative, which is good. I'm not familiar with Men in the Sun, but I definitely think there would be a lot of interesting things to say about how the sun is used in The Outsider (I that book!). HJ:)
I personally think using the sun is an absolutly a great idea. Reply
deissi
I did my WLA2c on The Outsider and how the sun acts as a literary device. I didn't compare it to any work but I still had enough to say. Reply
UnicornsandDaisies
I personally think using the sun is an absolutly a great idea. I wanted to do this but my teacher said that topics such as weather and health would be marked harder by the IB because they are done so often .... im comparing legal and personal guilt (in the stranger and the assault, though) Reply
Jay D
I've read L'Etranger in its original and I found the themes too dense for an English essay. It'd make a good philosophy paper, not ToK though. Good luck. Reply

LinuxBeta
We can't do the work for you, Saransh. We can help if you have ideas, o make suggestions. What are you thinking of analyzing? I haven't read 'water for chocolate', but The House of the Spirits was amazing. A little long though. Reply
