herong2x
well im not aware of the old rules but we are also required to propose some activities and also have some acitivities that involve all criteria of CAS. in our school, we have the cas camps where creativity, action and service are all included. i guess we are also following the new rules? Jakebert
The rules we have are these:Must be continual CAS over 18 months1 Long-Term Service (4 months) OUT of school, two areas of CASMust fulfill 8 learning outcomes (can't remember them all, but it's like 1. Considers the ethical implications of your actions, 2. learns new skills, etc.)i thought that the learning outcomes were the official IB rules. bohemian03
hmm I guess we abide by the old rules.First of all, we need 150 hours (50, 50, 50) and we need to have learning outcomes and such... That's it though... Reply
Sarusta
I haven't heard anything about this new ruling on CAS, we're still doing the 50 hours per part. Reply
CommeDesEnfants
The only thing different at our school CAS-wise this year are these new reflection forms that are made by our school, and are basically much more harder to answer rewordings of the questions already on the form itself. At my school, we don't even have to keep track of which hours are Creativity, Action or Service, but instead, we're encouraged to find activities that encompass all 3 as much as possible. The 150 hours rule still applies. The fact that your school has changed it seems pretty weird to me. :/ Reply
