Therefore, I decided to find every university ranking I could and averaged them all out by weighting certain rankings more than others. I normally adjusted the ranking weights on what I thought were the most influential, but also, the most detailed, unique and multi-dimensional in their methodology. The main reason I compiled this ranking was to look at how various universities fared against each other against numerous criteria, both subjective and objective, and size independent and size dependent. I don't mean to be rude, as this list must have taken a long time to compile, but why the focus on rankings and prestige? Do you think that a higher ranking actually denotes a significantly better educational environment? I am by no means saying that you (or anyone for that matter) should choose a university solely on the basis of rankings. But you have to admit that for some people they are taken into consideration. And given that there are so many different rankings out there, I thought I would just find a reasonable average as I was quite curious myself and I thought it may be helpful for some others. You can ignore what's above and have your own way, but I don't think its unreasonable to have another way of looking at things.
