kw0573
The relative atomic mass are the molar mass of elements. Mass of element per mol of compound = number of the specific element in compound * element r.a.m. Molar mass of compound = sum of masses of elements per mol of compound Cu: 64 * 1 = 64 S: 32 * 1 = 32 H: 1 * (5 * 2) = 10 O: 16 * (4 + 5) = 16 * 9 = 144 64 + 32 + 10 + 144 = 250 D 1 Reply
samim
64 + 32+ 64+10+80 = 250g of the hydrated copper (II) sulfate. SO Answer is D. Reply
mushroom
So basically with this type of question you want to find out how many atoms of each element you have per mol of the hydrated copper (II) sulphate, and then add them up. In this there is 1 Cu, 1 S, 9 O, and 10 H. 1 x 64 + 1 x 32 + 9 x 16 + 10 x 1 = 250 g 1 Reply
