I'm taking Lit Lang and we've been told to get a primary text to class (I'm guessing it's for the FOA but I'm not entirely sure). Our topic at the moment is Language and Gender, so do you guys have any suggestions on what text/source to choose? So, if you think Jane Eyre is too tedious, then choose something else -- anything that will allow you to talk about some aspect of gender. It could be an ad or brochure or another literary text, a film, --- even the blurbs and images on a cereal package! But you have to have a clearly-conceived aspect.
