Biology Paper 2

(This is all assuming you're HL) The new syllabus exams made the Paper 2 format arguably more difficult as well, with only a maximum of 32 points from Section B (when it used to be 40), and thus the majority of points (40) coming from the data based Section A.

I'd strongly suggest you to maximize marks in Section B; if you're aiming for a 6-7 in Biology, aim for at least 27/32 marks for Section B. In Section A, it's all about how you analyze and interpret data. Make sure you write out units for calculations, check and recheck answers, always make sure you understand the graphs e.g. what their axis labels are, their units etc. Do you notice any discrepancies/anomalies/correlations? Mention them!

Other than that, people mostly try to get as much marks as possible in Paper 1. Because it's only worth 20% of your final grade, you'd want to be looking at an 84<% on Paper 1 as most people, even the ones who get a 7 at the very end, don't usually get more than 78% for Paper 2 (these are conclusions drawn from statistics though; you'll find a 7 boundary for Paper 1 to usually be above 85%, and the boundary for Paper 2 to be 76 or 77%.
