Spanish Civil War must be one of the wars covered in your research essay. Yugoslav breakup and Chinese Civil WAR could be used as two other examples." I wanted to ask if it is possible for any of you to explain how to build the essay and maybe where can I find info on the Break up of Yugoslavia? In general, compare and contrast essays are most successful when they deal with both sides in each paragraph. For example, if comparing Mao's five year plan to Stalin's five year plan, in a paragraph I would talk about collectivization (making direct reference to how the are the same and how they are different). Instead of just listing everything I know about Stalin and everything I know about Mao and then telling you how they are the same and how they are different in the conclusion. The goal is to show the reader that you understand how they are the same and different and not to leave the reader to make the connections for you. As for Yugoslavia, I would suggest googling it.
