strugglingibkid
I have a problem with my history IA as well. I wrote my IA with the topic on my country's history. I investigated how particular deportations contributed to the uprising that took place just after them. It is a type of "To what extent" question, but, in order to answer it, I need to take other factors that affected the occurrence of the uprising as well. However, my teacher, which I would not consider as very competent, says that in order to answer the question I should not comment on other factors. How did you answer "to what extent" questions, does commenting on other factors that are not the main focus of the investigation is appropriate? IB_taking_over
Without knowing the actual question it's hard to give a detailed answer. However, I believe your teacher is mostly correct. You should not spend a significant amount of time on the other factors. 1 Reply
Moma
hmm, but actually it depends... If the other factors are significant for the analysis and the conclusion, the take them into consideration... But keep in my mind, that the "Summary of evidence" part is recommend to about 500-600 words... Therefore if the "other factors" would require a lot of summarizing etc. then you should think about ignoring them a little bit...Because with that little word count, it's just a little investigation in my opinion... 1 Reply
