Chemistry IA on drugs or rate of reaction

Hey guys!

My chem IA is coming up, and to say the least, I'm kind of lost.

I would like to do something about caffeine as a drug, but I don't know which experiment could be done on this - or if it's maybe too simple.

Another possibility could be to do something on rate of reaction, as that is my strongest topic, but yet again I find it difficult to come up with a suitable experiment.

Does anyone have a suggestion, which can maybe help my process a bit?

Thanks in advance!

You could look at the effect of brewing time for the yield of caffeine in coffee or tea. I also strongly advice you to stay away from kinetics as it have been overdone.

A good topic you could investigate apart from the caffeine idea could be optical rotation of chiral molecules, the effect of altering the concentration of a of a dextrororatory sugar on the angle of rotation of light for example.

Good luck, feel free to send me a message if you need anymore help.
