Anne Sofie Bagger Tranberg
Hey guys!My chem IA is coming up, and to say the least, I'm kind of lost. I would like to do something about caffeine as a drug, but I don't know which experiment could be done on this - or if it's maybe too simple. Another possibility could be to do something on rate of reaction, as that is my strongest topic, but yet again I find it difficult to come up with a suitable experiment. Does anyone have a suggestion, which can maybe help my process a bit? Thanks in advance! Reply
Chemstryandbio
You could look at the effect of brewing time for the yield of caffeine in coffee or tea. I also strongly advice you to stay away from kinetics as it have been overdone.A good topic you could investigate apart from the caffeine idea could be optical rotation of chiral molecules, the effect of altering the concentration of a of a dextrororatory sugar on the angle of rotation of light for example.Good luck, feel free to send me a message if you need anymore help. 2 Reply
