Blackcurrant
I'm sure this same question has been answered many, many times already. But here goes... Your introduction should - contextualise both texts (genre, period, topic, audience, purpose). - points of similarity/dissimilarity? How do these relate to audience and purpose? - terms of your argument (do you think one text is more effective/interesting/compelling than the other? basically, how? ....***very, very briefly ) Your conclusion will answer "WHY?" to the last one. Don't spill the beans in your intro. Save the good stuff for later. You can afford to be a little mysterious to start with, right? Not vague or confusing, mind. That is about all there is too it. It's all very well just to SAY all this, but you need to be able to do it. The proof is in the pudding, after all. See how others have done it and then... practice lots! Hope this helps a bit.
