MissNora
Hi, I'm doing my EE in Biology, and it requires doing statistics on my results...my question is, is it better to use a GDC or Excel in doing the calculations and just putting the final result with something like "done using Excel" or is it better to work out the calculations in the paper? Looking at old EE's i saw that people do either one, but the ones who worked out calculations had higher marks - does IB mark down for not working them out? thanks Reply
loser123726
examiners are looking for statistically significant data in your statistical analysis Excel and GDC are sometimes not advanced enough to produce promising statistics if you are looking for correlations between variables, it is better for you to use statisical analysis software (eg. SPSS), and there are many more functions!! Reply
MissNora
hmm...i dont think you get my question. its not the nature of the statstics that im questioning, its how to present them in the essay. should i show all my calculations or just put the final answer and say "done using excel/gdc/etc" Reply
