melliflower
I have a question. Do I need an A1 subject? I wanted to take A2 English (there's no course based strictly on literature offered at my school), French ab initio and German B, because I wanted to ditch Polish altogether. Am I allowed to do it or not? Reply
ibprincess
you need to have atleast one A subject and at least one B subject, so taking A2 english is fine 1 Reply
Magician
you need to have atleast one A subject and at least one B subject, so taking A2 english is fine Just adding on that some schools, such as my school, allow 2 language A subjects with no language B subject (double language A course). However, the IB doesn't seem to allow two language B subjects. 4 Reply
melliflower
But there is something like a bilingual diploma, isn't there? And if I don't have Polish A1 I won't get it. Does having a bilingual diploma gives you any bonus points when applying for universities? Reply
ultimateone
A bilingual diploma is when you do two Language As, instead of the regular Language A and Language B format. It doesn't really benefit you when applying for universities unless you're applying for a Language course and want to do something related to Languages. Otherwise, the bilingual diploma is a choice offered to those who are language enthusiasts or simply just want to torture themselves more (as if the IB Diploma programme isn't already torturing students ) Reply
ellie
There's no A1 and A2 anymore, just Lit and Lang & Lit. Reply
