I am interested in dystopian films, but unsure how to structure my thesis. I would like to focus on film theory rather than history, but am unsure if I need to be super specific (e.g. the use of lighting to highlight the societal fears of artificial intelligence in dystopian films) or something more general (e.g. the use of cinematic techniques to create meaning in dystopian films) Thanks!
