MariamXO
My deadline for courses are very soon and I just don't know what to pick for the second language. At the moment I take french and have an 82%. I talked to my teacher and she said that if I worked really hard I could get a 6 (which I'm aiming for) but I don't think I can get that since I can't read, write without a dictionary, or really speak :/ With Spanish I know I can get a 6 since I already know a little bit plus most of my friends speak spanish so I can practice with them all the time. But I live in Canada and its more useful to know french rather than spanish so I really don't know what to do. Reply
IbTrojan
Okay well do you plan on living in Canada afterwards? If so, then yes I would definitely recommend continuing with French. Honestly, you can improve. It's not too difficult. I need a dictionary to write and sometimes read and my oral skills are pretty rusty...yet I try practicing in class and reading stuff at home. There are a few threads on how to improve in French: http://www.ibsurvival.com/topic/33942-work-for-frenchsl-level-3-6/ http://www.ibsurvival.com/topic/31138-how-to-improve-french-very-important/ http://www.ibsurvival.com/topic/34104-improving-in-french/ http://www.ibsurvival.com/topic/34145-should-i-read-the-french-dictionary/ But honestly, if you don't think you'll be needing french very much in the future, you could always go for spanish.
