As an international student you really need to have an SAT score in the 75th percentile because its really competitive and if you're asian its even more competitive (this is because a lot of Asians apply with extremely high stats). The common set data for 2014/2015 states that these are the 25th/75th percentile SAT scores: First value = 25th percentile, 2nd value = 75th percentile

SAT CR: 680-780

SAT M: 700-790

SAT W: 690-790

Usually 2200+ is good enough but the higher your SAT I/SAT II scores the better your chances are but there is a point where higher scores don't make much of a difference e.g. if you got a 2300 your first time, resitting the SAT to get above a 2300 won't make any difference.

Since Stanford in need aware for international students applying for financial aid will likely reduce your chance of getting accepted as you they may choose someone else over you that is full pay and has similar stats. But if you really do feel like you've got the stats to have a decent chance of getting accepted, don't let the financial aid thing deter you from applying.

With that being said, your going to need a lot more than a high SAT score and good grades to get into Stanford. You're going to need amazing extracurriculars, awards/honors, good recommendations and great essays. So keep that in mind!

Good Luck :)
