Starfall
Hi! I'm wondering if I should take Math 1 or 2 SAT's :/ I'm doing HL math and quite well on it, I had 6 on last mocks. Has anyone been on both and what is SAT 2 level compared to IB HL math? Reply

You definitely need to take SAT Maths Level 2 if you're applying for engineering - it tests more advanced maths (the equivalent of standard level maths minus the calculus topics), however, all the topics that are tested on the SAT Level 2 test aren't in the IB syllabus so you'll need to self study those topics. And since you're doing higher level maths you should have no problem doing well. The maths that you're tested on is equivalent to that of the SAT I (reasoning) maths section, so it's not hard at all. Either way, you're better off doing maths level 2 since you're applying for engineering, its actually required by some universities. 2 Reply
Guest moonkyu97
Depending on what you are applying to, Math Level 2. They have some things that you learn only in Further Math HL syllabus, though, so you need to study separately if you don't take Further Math HL. I don't but since you're taking the SATs, it is obvious that you're applying to the American universities since they only require SATs. 1 Reply
